About Uri
Uri Shimoni has been working with wood for over 30 years. He studied drawing, painting and sculpture and then worked in print making and lithography. He continued his studies in woodworking and furniture restoration in Strasbourg, France. There he apprenticed in the antique business, learning old world restoration techniques from master craftsmen. Uri has restored many museum pieces including the desk Abraham Lincoln used to sign the peace treaty at the end of the Civil War, furniture from the Kennedy estate and the custom-made ski case of Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia.
